1994 წელს კი ადგილობრივმა გამგებელმა, ბავშვებზე ზრუნვით, არ შესცივდეთ სკოლებშიო, ის ხე მოუჭრია, რომელიც აკაკი წერეთელს დაურგია და აბასთუმნის ერთერთ (და აბასთუმნისთვის უიშვიათეს ქართულ) ღირსშესანიშნაობას წარმოადგენდა.
აბასთუმნის გარშემო კი უსიერი ტყეა, ფიჭვნარ-ნაძვნარი. აკაკის ხის კუთვნილი ადგილი კი სკოლის ფეჩში ყოფილა.
